Auditions for
Children ages 2 to 5:

Sat, Nov 9, 10 to 11 am
Children ages 6 to 8:

Sat, Nov 9, 11 to 12 pm
A parent(s) or guardian(s) must attend audition with children ages 2 to 8.
Please expect to stay for your entire hour time slot.

 

For actors ages 9 and older

(including teens and adults),

auditions times are

Sat, Nov 9, 12:30 to 2:30 pm

and Sun, Nov 10, 3:30 to 5:30 pm

All actors 9 and older (including teens and adults) should be prepared to stay the entire two hour time slot the day of your audition. Actors ages 9 to 17 must come with a parent or legal guardian to register them and sign appropriate forms prior to their auditions. For actors in this group, audition sides (lines to read for the audition) are below if you would like to review them prior to the audition. These sides do not need to be memorized and hard copies will be provided at the audition. If you would like to just be considered for an ensemble role and prefer not to read sides, please still attend one of these two time slots.

For Dancers/Gymnasts

of all ages, please come

Expect to stay the entire two hours. Dancers/Gymnasts will be taught a combination at the audition and do not need to prepare anything ahead of the audition, Dancers/Gymnasts who would also like to be considered for an acting role are welcomed to stay after the Sunday dance/gymnast audition to read from the sides.

THE ROLES WE ARE SEEKING 

​

  • Gerda (F, 18-22):
    Intelligent, loving and capable. She is brave, stalwart and driven to help others. She is an example of true love. Must be able to sing. Mezzo-soprano.
    ​​​​​​

  • Jan (M, 18-22):
    Brave, heroic, but a bit brash. His tendency to act and speak without thinking causes problems. However, his love is real, and his heart is true.
    Must be able to sing. Baritone.​​​

​​​​

  • Child 1 (M/F, 9-12):
    The leader of the three;
    the most responsible.
    ​

  • Child 2 (M/F, 9-12):
    The timid one.​

  • Child 3 (M/F, 9-12):
    The goofball.
    ​

​

  • Vilma (F, 9-12):
    Tough and brash, but defensive. Hides a vulnerability due to being in a position of leadership for which she is too young. She learns to accept friendship and reclaim her childhood.

  • Grandmother (F, 60+):
    A loving, warm-hearted but mischievous grandmother-type. She enjoys a good ghost story and loves the people around her very much.​​
    ​​​

  • Varis the Crow (M/F, any age):
    Mischievous and intentionally difficult. They will only answer exactly what he is asked. Puppeteering experience a plus. ​​

  • Mother Blossom (F, 40+):
    A spirit of Spring and flowers. She is loving and caring but overly protective.
     

​​​​​​​

  • Slasher, Scuz, Pigbog, Louis (M, 30-60):
    A rough and tumble group of robbers who appear big and scary on the outside, but really just want to be part of something important. Should be able to carry a tune.

  • Finn Woman, Northlander,
    Anja, Bruno, Florian (Multiple):

    minor characters who the protagonist encounters along her journey

  • Ensemble Actors (M/F, ages 9-109!):
    Play different roles throughout the show

    Featured roles throughout the show

  • Dancers/Strong Movers

The Chorus of Westerly’s One-Time Revival of A CELEBRATION OF TWELFTH NIGHT The Chorus of Westerly is bringing back Westerly’s beloved holiday production A Celebration of Twelfth Night after a 10-year hiatus.  An annual community musical and stage extravaganza produced by The Chorus of Westerly for 40 years, A Celebration of Twelfth Night became one of the region’s most popular musical and theatrical events. The very large cast and crew is made up of many local amateurs and volunteers, who work alongside professional directors, choreographers, musicians, actors, dancers, and technical personnel.
